The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Karen Haist can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Condolence: Karen was assisting at the 1st Triathlon seminar I went to, I had a hand-me-down bike,it was awful. Two days later I went to Spokes and Slopes to purchase a new bike. I think she was waiting for me, she had a bike already picked out. It took her 3 years to get me to let her to raise the seat to the correct height, but she kept at me every year until she had it right. I doubt if I would have finished my first race without her help. This year will be my 5th race and I will dedicate it to her. I will miss her enthusiasm and encouragement! Gayle
